Engineer
This is a technical position expected to be an integral part of a
Li-ion battery R&D team. His/her
goal is to enable complete confidence on our results from both internal and
external customers by efficiently and expertly carrying out, analyzing and presenting
performance and safety tests.
Responsibilities
- To
build and maintain a highly capable Li-ion battery testing facility
commensurate with our overall commercialization goals and timing. Facility should include testers, various
analyzers, environmental controls, testing protocols, testing software,
database etc.
- To
lead and be responsible for cell testing and evaluation part of the
R&D, providing the team with timely, reliable, and insightful data and
analysis.
- To
design and implement tests per industry standards and customer
requirements.
Establish and responsible for QA process for
products sampling and shipping to customers.
- Able to recognize and satisfy the different
needs of internal R&D and external customers in terms of the type of
tests and data.
- Work
closely with other engineers to assist other parts of the R&D, such as
cell design, manufacturing process, and quality control. Provide insights through cell tests to
the team to make sure the cell is developed in a holistic system approach
and conforms to application requirements and industrial standards.
- Daily responsibilities
include coordinating and running cell tests; implement test protocols,
prepare data for internal and external customers.
- He/she will also manage
test equipment procurement, installation and maintenance.
- Follow rigorous
documentation practices and record all tests, test protocols, experiments
and results in laboratory notebooks.
Qualifications
·
5 years
experience in Li-ion battery R&D environment with Li-ion battery testing
one of the responsibilities.

Expert
in Li-ion cell performance mechanisms.
Capable of using electrochemical and physical models to illustrate and
predict cell performance.

Must
have demonstrated deep understanding of Li-ion cell safety mechanisms and its
evaluation methods.

Demonstrated
expertise on industrial standards for Li-ion batteries as well as related test
protocols
·
Demonstrated
creativity and problem solving skills
·
Demonstrated
ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team; possess good
communication and presentation skills
·
B.S.
degree in an engineering field required; Ph.D. degree preferred
